Maisie Smith, 21, reveals Max George, 34, was her ‘childhood crush’

Maisie Smith has revealed that boyfriend Max George was her ‘childhood crush’.

The former EastEnders actress, 21, would have been nine-years-old when The Wanted released their first single in 2010 and Max shot to fame alongside Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes and Tom Parker.

Taking part in a TikTok trend on Monday, Maisie was seen leaping into Max’s arms as she packed on the PDA with the singer, 34.

Text flashed up on the screen asking: ‘You’re in a room with your boyfriend, your celebrity crush and your childhood crush… Who you running to?’

Maisie was then seen running across the room before she leapt on Max and straddled him while showering him with kisses.

After Maisie proved that all was in fact well with Max, and has since even sparked engagement rumours with him, Ulrika Jonsson, 55, blasted the ‘attention-seeking’ actress.

Writing in The Sun, the mother-of-four penned: ‘Surely, sadness, mourning, personal trauma or grieving is something private – not something you milk?’

She added: ‘It also exploits the loyalty and goodwill of her fans, who clearly care deeply about her.’

The presenter went on to brand the video ‘self-indulgent’ as well as ‘attention-seeking nonsense’, concluding: ‘It has a whiff of the boy who cried wolf about it.’

On Tuesday, the former EastEnders star shared a concerning video which showed a tear rolling down her cheek, with the caption: ‘You didn’t deserve me.’

Soon after Maisie shared the post, a slew of fans flooded the comments with concern that there was trouble in her relationship with beau Max, but he quickly ended the speculation with a gushing comment.

Maisie uploaded the short compilation video backed to the song Evergreen (You Didn’t Deserve Me At All) by Omar Apollo.

She captioned the video: ‘Nothing but happiness these days.’

Maisie and Max dashed split rumours earlier this week as they jetted off for the getaway, sharing a post on the plane as they wrote ‘And we’re off again’.

Max, now in a relationship with Maisie, split with Ryan Giggs’ ex-wife in August before she accused him of cheating on her with his Strictly co-star.

It followed reports that Stacey is furious her former partner Max and his Strictly co-star are now dating publicly just days after they split.

The report claimed that Max and Stacey’s first split in March this year was due to Stacey becoming suspicious about her boyfriend’s close relationship with Maisie, who he had spent the previous two months with on the Strictly tour.

Despite splitting, Max and Stacey continued to spend time together, with the former boybander a regular guest at Stacey’s home as he continued to deny he had cheated on her with Maisie.

It was on July 28 that Max jetted to on holiday to Portugal to meet up with Maisie and mutual friends. According to Stacey he continued to deny he was with his Strictly co-star, telling her in phone calls that he was in Spain.

Stacey and Max initially got together in 2018, with Max previously calling Stacey ‘the one’, after meeting way back in 2011 at V festival.

The Wanted singer was dating actress Michelle Keegan at the time, while Stacey was still married to Manchester United player Ryan.
