Integrated curriculum for 3-8 age group children in Tripura schools | Agartala News

AGARTALA: In a bid to introduce an integrated curriculum for children aged between 3 and 8 years, the Tripura government formally launched Mission Mukul on Saturday as part of the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN).
Launching the mission with more than 1,200 educationists and Anganwadi workers, Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath said the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has accorded the highest priority to Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) to achieve universal acquisition of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN).
Explaining the mission, Nath stated that at least three Anganwadi centres would be attached to a government school within a radius of 1.5 km depending on the topography, communication and other allied factors. Anganwadi workers will be mentored by a trained schoolteacher, weekly assignments for the children enrolled will be provided by the school through Anganwadi workers and children will accomplish their assignments through mentoring by Anganwadi workers. “The children aged 4 years and above will visit schools once a month to get familiarized with the school ambiance which will help every child attain foundational literacy and numeracy to acquire linguistic and mathematical skills by the end of Grade 3 by 2026-27,” Nath stated.
