Sue Cleaver looked in good spirits as she arrived to the Marriott Gold Coast Resort hotel following her elimination from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The Coronation Street actress, 59, didn’t look too upset to have left the jungle as she grinned from ear-to-ear upon her arrival at the venue.

The soap star was greeted by her friends and family at the hotel along with the other celebrity campmates’ nearest and dearest who have flown to Australia.

Overjoyed: Sue Cleaver looked in good spirits as she arrived to the Marriott Gold Coast Resort hotel following her elimination from I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

Sue went straight from the jungle to the hotel and she was still wearing her camp outfit when she emerged from the vehicle.

The actress was seen embracing the other celebrities’ loved ones who all gave her a round of applause as she stepped out of the car.

Sue was the third star to leave the show during Monday night’s episode, as she recieved the fewest amount of votes from the public.

Previously the campmates’ loved ones and the evicted stars stayed at the iconic Palazzo Versace resort, which many fans will be familiar with as it features in the Coming Out show.

The eviction comes as the show has been subject to accusations of racism for the second year running, as Sue is the first white contestant to be voted out of the show, following Scarlette Douglas and Charlene White’s respective departures.

Presenters Ant and Dec made their way down to camp to deliver the eviction news, explaining to the camp that the public had been voting.

Going around the circle to each campmate, the duo informed them that it would either be Boy George or Sue to leave the camp.

And as they revealed it was the latter, the actress appeared overjoyed with the news, beaming with happiness as she gave her fellow celebrities a hug goodbye.

The camp then gathered near the bridge to wave Sue off, beaming and waving as they watched her leave.

Talking to the Geordie presenting duo following her departure, the star admitted that she was happy to be leaving, sharing: ‘You just have no control in there, it was my time’.

Continuing: ‘You feel very vulnerable, things get to you,’ as Ant and Dec reminded her: ‘You had a little wobble one night in the RV?’

‘I had my moment in there, I just had one of those days. I just hit a low, I didn’t sleep and then when one thing goes, it’s like a domino and one thing can set you off. It’s tough in there,’ she continued.

As Ant and Dec questioned whether it was as good as she hoped, Sue replied: ‘I’ve had the ride of my life, I really have. And I will never forget it, I’m glad it ended there because you don’t wanna see angry Sue.’

Sue watched back on her highlights from the experience as the show played a montage of clips, showing her close bond with the other campmates.

And talking about close pal Mike Tindall, who she dubbed her ‘jungle husband’, the star said: ‘We connected instantly, we have the same sense of humour. Mike’s such a hugger too, he’s such a lovely man.’

Before leaving the exit interview, the actress was asked who she’d like to win the show, as she revealed her hopes of a victory for Lioness Jill Scott.

The Corrie star left just one day after Scarlette Douglas, who was voted out on Sunday evening, and Charlene White, who was the first to go before that.

And it comes as the ITV show is currently embroiled in a race row, as Sunday evening saw the camp’s two remaining non-white celebrities, Babatúndé Aléshé and Scarlette, face the bottom two – before the latter was voted off 48 hours after Charlene had been.

This marks the second consecutive year the show has faced such accusations after Naughty BoyKadeena Cox and DJ Snoochie Shy were evicted early on in the 2021 series – leaving an all-white camp line-up.

Fans of the ITV show accused viewers of racism on Twitter following Scarlette’s shock departure, with one saying: ‘Notice how not one single black person has ever won I’m A Celeb.’

Another tweeted: ‘Stop bringing race into it, two out, both black women when there’s horrible problematic white men still in there. And let’s not forget a black person has never won this show. Race is relevant when there is an obvious pattern.’

A third viewer said: ‘If you still need proof that racism is very much alive and kicking in this country, two black women have now been consecutively voted out and the only black man in the jungle was in close danger of leaving. Still think we’re pulling the race card, boomers?’

The ITV show’s winners have been consistently white throughout its 20-year history, with Sue the third overall and first white celebrity to leave this season.

Seven celebrities remain in the competition, with the public vote now reopen for the next eviction.
