CPM presses for arrest of those behind attack on DYFI blood donation camp | Agartala News

AGARTALA: The opposition CPM here on Sunday issued an ultimatum to the government to arrest those behind the vandalism in a blood donation camp organised by the party’s youth front, DYFI, at Barpathari area of Belonia in South Tripura a day earlier, failing which it would launch a statewide agitation.
DYFI state secretary Nabarun Deb alleged that BJP mandal president of Rajnagar constituency, Ranjit Sarkar, along with some miscreants attacked the camp, looted the medical equipment, destroyed the food items and burned the bed sheets and nursing materials kept there.
Two blood donors identified as Shibu Biswas and Sadhan Pal were beaten up. Another CPM worker Kamalesh Biswas was attacked in Arya Colony area when he protested against the attack on the camp, Deb alleged.
“A specific case against BJP leaders Ranjit Sarkar, Bimal Pal, Sadhan Shil, Sajal Biswas, Manik Majumdar and Binod Sen was registered with the P R Bari police station for leading the attack, but police are yet to take any step. Rather they are indirectly threatening the complainants with chances of further trouble if they pursue the case,” Deb alleged. “If the CM fails to get the culprits arrested immediately, it will be clear that the attack was carried out with his involvement and we shall launch a statewide movement to unmask the true face of BJP leaders,” Deb threatened.
