Al Roker leaves the hospital after getting treatment for a blood clot in his leg… after missing his first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 27 years

Al Roker has plenty to be thankful for, as he was discharged from the hospital on Thanksgiving day… though unfortunately he had to miss his first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 27 years.

The 68-year-old Today Show weather anchor revealed last week that he was hospitalized, ‘with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs.’

He took to Instagram on Thursday, poking fun at his absence from the annual parade as he left the hospital to have Thanksgiving dinner with his family.

‘All right, this is my version of the Thanksgiving Day parade, getting ready to leave the hospital. Time to blow this taco stand,’ Roker said in the brief video.

Last Friday, Roker shared an update for his fans, who have wondered why he hasn’t been on the air lately, revealing his medical issues.

‘After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery,’ he added.
