Jade Jagger is fined £1,215 for resisting arrest and wounding in Ibiza

Jade Jagger appeared grim faced as she left court with her boyfriend this afternoon after she was fined £1,215 over a bust-up in Ibiza.

Jade, the daughter of Rolling Stones rocker Sir Mick Jagger, and her lover Anthony Hinkson, 31, left court from a side entrance after spending two nights in police cells.

The 51-year-old was convicted of resisting arrest and a minor offence of wounding a woman police officer following a row at the La Oliva restaurant in Ibiza’s Old Town on Wednesday night.

Jade was ordered to pay £695 (800 euros) to the police officer, who injured her wrist in the incident.

Hinkson was handed a four-month prison sentence for assault – but is not expected to do any jail time because sentences of less than two years are normally automatically suspended in Spain for first-time offenders.

The couple were freed at around 3.30pm after appearing before a judge in a secret hearing at the new Juzgado de Instruction 1 court in Ibiza Town.

Jade and Hinkson were arrested on Wednesday night following a row with staff at the La Oliva restaurant.

Witnesses told MailOnline that Hinkson was drinking whisky in the restaurant when he began behaving erratically and aggressively, threatening and swearing at staff and customers.

At one point he is said to have gone into the up-market Annie’s clothes shop opposite the restaurant and bought a designer dress for more than 2,000 euros as an impromptu gift for a waitress at La Oliva.

Police were called by restaurant staff at around 9pm after he allegedly refused to leave, but he failed to quieten down and was seen being dragged to the ground by officers before being carried away in handcuffs.

Jewellery designer Jagger was also held by police after she allegedly pushed an officer while furiously protesting about her boyfriend’s arrest.

The couple left court together with Jagger in sunglasses and dressed in a black jump suit with short sleeves and Hinkson in white trousers and a blue top.

Jagger immediately turned down a side road with one of her lawyers Cristina Samaan, saying nothing and ignoring questions from journalists.

She walked around 100 yards to a waiting black Mercedes people carrier van with blacked out windows.

Jagger jumped into the back of the van which then waited for around five minutes at the roadside before leaving.

Hinkson who was carrying a white bag had sprinted away from Jagger outside the court and ran off down a different road in an apparent attempt to confuse journalists.

He is not expected to do any jail time because sentences of less than two years are normally automatically suspended in Spain for first-time offenders.

A court official said: ‘Court of Instruction Number One in Ibiza has held a speedy trial following a plea bargain deal against A.W and J.J who were arrested on Wednesday in Ibiza.

‘The judge has convicted A.W of a crime of atentado contra la autoridad (assault) and handed him a four-month prison sentence.

‘The same judge has fined JJ for a crime of serious resistance and a minor offence of wounding.

‘The fine for the first offence is ten euros daily over four months and for the second it is a 20-day fine at 10 euros a day. JJ must also compensate her victim with 800 euros.’

The couple were represented in court by Ms Samaan and solicitor Ascension Joaniquet who is known as one of Ibiza’s top criminal lawyers.

Ms Joaniquet refused to say what had happened at the hearing as she left the building a few minutes before Jagger was released.

But Ms Samaan said: ‘They are being released of course, but at this moment we don’t have any authorisation to make any kind of statement. But I can say that we are finished in court.’

The couple are thought to have been brought to court at around 8.30am in a police van with blacked-out windows and blue lights flashing.

The van was pictured pulling up outside court and reversing down an internal ramp into a basement car park.

A metal door slammed shut preventing photographers from seeing who was getting out of the van in the basement.

The couple are believed to have been held at Ibiza’s National Police HQ, only a short distance from the court.

They were formally questioned by detectives yesterday and are understood to have spent a second night in police custody ahead of their court transfer.

Now, Jade has been fined £1,215 for resisting arrest and wounding while Hinkson was handed a four-month suspended prison sentence.

The court ruling came after Spanish cops today announced they will take private legal action against Jade and Hinkson after their arrest outside La Oliva restaurant in Ibiza’s Old Town.

The Spanish police union SUP said it has instructed a lawyer to pursue a private prosecution against Jade and Hinkson – in addition to the official charges they were handed today.

The union, which has more than 20,000 affiliated members, says it wants to ‘bring the full force of the law’ down on the couple over the assault and wounding of police officers following a row with staff at the La Oliva restaurant.

‘We are tired of seeing how assaults on police go virtually unpunished,’ the union said in a statement today. ‘SUP will present a private legal action against Mick Jagger’s daughter for allegedly assaulting a National Police officer in Ibiza.’

Under Spanish law affected parties can prosecute as well as the state in an action which runs parallel but separately to the state case

The couple were arrested for the Spanish offence of atentado contra la autoridad, which would cover everything from violently resisting arrest to attacking a police officer.

People found guilty of such an offence can face prison sentences of one to four years in Spain as well as fines.

Jail sentences of two years or less are normally suspended in Spain for first-time offenders.

Jagger and her boyfriend were not immediately charged with any crime under Spanish law, as is normal in Spain where formal charges are only laid shortly before trial.

Jade and Hinkson are believed to have been held at Ibiza’s National Police HQ following their arrest on Wednesday night, only a short distance from the court.

They were formally questioned by detectives on Thursday following a night in a police cell and are understood to have spent a second night in police custody ahead of their court hearing today.

Police have not formally named them or released an official statement about the incident, which saw Hinkson being pinned to the ground and arrested after he allegedly assaulted a police officer at around 9pm on Wednesday.

Police sources have confirmed a man and a woman were arrested after an alleged assault on officers who responded to calls of an English-speaking male acting aggressively towards restaurant staff who refused to serve him any more drinks and asked him to leave.

A witness said: ‘Jade’s boyfriend was behaving very oddly.  I don’t know what made him be like that.

‘At one stage he came outside and went into Annie’s clothes shop on the other side of the road where he bought a dress.

‘He was bothering girls who were in the shop and making comments to a girl who was working there. He was not really making much sense. He was saying, ‘Give me the f***ing dress. He was really rude.

‘Then he took the dress back to the restaurant and tried to give it to the waitress. His behaviour was so erratic that the restaurant manager decided to call police.

‘Seven police officers came and it looked like they tried to calm him down, but he was resisting them and saying really horrible stuff.

‘He did not have his T shirt on and he was bare chested. The police managed to pull him down and they put handcuffs on him, but he was still resisting.

‘I recognised Jade and she looked really upset about what is happening. She was demanding that police officers identify themselves, saying: ‘I don’t want to mess with anyone. Give me your names.’

‘The cops kept telling her to stay out of it, but she was saying, ‘You are just arresting him because he is black’. The police were telling her to stay at home, but she said, ‘No, I am coming with you.’

‘An officer told her, ‘If you keep going, I will arrest you’. Then she was arrested as well.

I didn’t actually see her pushing or anything like that.

‘But I saw an ambulance arrive, and there were loads of police.’

The witness said that Hinkson left the restaurant about half an hour before his arrest and splashed out on a sleeveless gold dress by New York designer LaQuan Smith , priced at 2,102 euros on the shop’s website.

They added: ‘He was buying the dress for a waitress. He was saying, ‘Try something on. I will buy it for you.’ He was bothering everyone and screaming.

‘It was just really weird behaviour. I heard that they had been staying in a house nearby. It also looks like that the waitress got to keep the dress.’

A well-placed source said: ‘Police arrested two people last night, a man and a woman, in Ibiza.

‘Around 9pm there was a police intervention as a result of a call from a restaurant about a man. The man had gone by the time police arrived.

‘People at the restaurant including staff and a manager and a couple of customers told officers he had been aggressive towards them, and they had refused to serve him any more drinks and he left.

‘A man in the street then approached the police patrol cars outside.

‘When officers approached him he began to insult them in English, refusing to identify himself and being very hostile.

‘They tried to calm him down several times. That’s when a woman appeared.

‘Police managed to calm her down and then call an ambulance for the man who was in a bad way.

‘At that moment the woman enters the scene again, squaring up to an officer. She was then also arrested.’

Lisa Salle, the owner of La Oliva restaurant, refused to comment, saying: ‘We are not talking about this.’

But a waitress called Maria who works at nearby La Toretta restaurant, said: ‘This man was super, super drunk. He was super, super crazy.

‘He was drinking whisky in La Oliva. Then he became aggressive and the staff told him to leave. They said: ‘You are disturbing customers. Please go.’

‘Lisa Salle was very polite to him, but he had a bad attitude. He came in to our restaurant and we told him to leave because we were waiting on customers.

‘He went into the shop and the girl in there was very scared of him. Then he went back to La Oliva and the police were called.

‘The police told him, ‘Please calm down. You are disturbing people.’ He was saying things like ‘F**k off’, ‘F**k the police’ and ‘F**k everything’.

‘When the police were arresting him, he was kicking out with his legs. They first restrained him by the arms and then they restrained his legs.

‘They had to carry him some distance to the police car. I am not clear whether Jade Jagger was in the restaurant at the time. I think she may have been staying in a house above a shop.

‘But she came out when he was arrested. She was following the officers down the road as they were taking the man away.

‘They warned her to calm down, but she kept on and she ended up being put against a wall and put in handcuffs.’

Jade who is Sir Mick’s daughter from his marriage to first wife Bianca lasted posted an Instagram picture of herself a week ago when she was at Hotel Nobu in Ibiza.

She accompanied the snap with a message saying: ‘Spring back to ibiza a (sic) with a little glamour @ibizabay #nobu.’
